World champion boxer Adrien Broner has had an eventful weekend and now week! Things went from high to low as he came out victorious in a match with Floyd Mayweather’s prospect Ashley Theophane, which he concluded with a personal challenge to Floyd Mayweather himself to a fight. Today, Broner turned himself in on charges of assault and aggravated robbery from an incident on Jan. 21.
He is accused of assaulting a man and robbing him of $12,000 at gunpoint outside a bowling alley. Broner allegedly lost the money to the victim during a night of high-stakes betting on bowling games, knocked him unconscious outside the bowling alley after a confrontation and took the money.
According to Hamilton County online records, Broner was taken into custody at 9:32 a.m. Monday. He reportedly posted $100,000 bail and was freed.
